The IOUG website has been updated and now includes many exciting new features including the ability to personalize your own browsing experience. Please check it out at www.ioug.org

Welcome to the Western Washington Oracle Users Group

WWOUG is the IOUG-affiliated regional users group for the Seattle area. We are a board-governed community of technology professionals connecting for education, networking and collaboration.

Please join us. Membership is free for now.

WWOUG monthly meetings on the second Thursday of every month
We now meet every month on the second Thursday of the month. Our default location is happy hour from 4:30pm - 6:30pm at the downtown Seattle Red Lion Hotel's Terrace Garden on the 5th floor. From time to time we put together a more formal event, so check here often for details.
Feb. 10 Meeting

On January 25, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:30, we will meet at Blue Gecko for dinner, drinks and back-to-back presentations by Dan Morgan and Jeremiah Wilton.

  • Dan will talk about one of the most important features in 11g, with his talk Edition Based Redefinition: What you need to know!

  • Jeremiah will debut his presentation for RMOUG, Top 10 Shocking Findings from Blue Gecko's Oracle Health Checks. Come hear about the surprising configuration mistakes that Blue Gecko helped customers identify and resolve through a thorough check of their database services.

The meeting will take place at Blue Gecko in downtown Seattle, 1408 Fourth Ave, Suite 200. Many thanks to Blue Gecko, providers of remote DBA services, for their generous donation of the venue and for catering dinner.

  • WWOUG has ratified bylaws, including a provision added on 2/23/2010 to support email voting.

    What Happened to PSOUG?
PSOUG ceased operating in Spring 2009 for a variety of reasons.  We have discussed the situation with the former leaders of PSOUG and they were inclined to allow us to proceed with formation of a new group.  We hope that former members of PSOUG will join us in renewing the local Oracle community.

What is happening now with WWOUG?
We have secured affiliation from IOUG and this website, hosted by IOUG, held meetings, elected a board and enacted bylaws. The next steps are:
    •    Hold our next meeting
    •    Seek further publicity through IOUG, Oracle and the former PSOUG officers
    •    Open bank accounts
    •    Plan more meetings and events
    •    Plan an annual conference
