You have all heard about the Exadata speed, the Exadata Challenge and all the other wonderful public comments. Now it is time to look under the hood and understand the functionality that makes Exadata so special. We will use our data warehouse glasses to take a look at using things like Storage Indexes, Hybrid Columnar Compression, Smart Scans, Flash Cache, Data Mining Model Scoring and other new features. The goal of this session is to explain the ins and outs of the latest functionality in a Database Machine and allow you to understand what this means for your data warehouse projects.
Presenters: Hermann Baer heads the RDBMS data warehousing product management team at Oracle Corporation. His group covers key Oracle features including partitioning, parallelism, the optimizer, SQL analytics and much more. Hermann has over 15 years of industry and Oracle expertise. He joined the RDBMS data warehousing product management team at Oracle's headquarters in 1999.
