IOUG - Security Patching Practices Survey Report
Results from the Security Patching Practices Survey are now available. This joint survey from the IOUG and Oracle provided information about security patching practice of Oracle users.
Click here to download the pdf report.
The purpose of this report is to provide feedback to Oracle on behalf of the IOUG members. We gained understanding of practices, challenges were identified and specific recommendations were presented to Oracle to further increase the effectiveness of the Critical Patch Update process. Opportunities are available to learn more about security best practices and specifically about the Critical Patch Update processes through the IOUG at Collaborate 09 as well as upcoming webcasts.

In architecting, implementing and maintaining enterprise database environments we are faced with several challenges related to security, managing large environments and business challenges of highly available systems as well as business continuity. The goal of this SIG is to provide members a virtual community to discuss relevant topics in regards to enterprise systems.
Major focus areas are:
Security
Manageability
High Availability
Professional Development
In working with other database professionals and sharing ideas and issues, information is available to apply best practices to enterprise environments. Also, the SIG is focused on creating partnerships with Oracle to develop strategic direction for securing these environments and learning Oracle recommendations for security to meet critical business requirements.
These topics listed above as well as others are presented via web cast or live presentations at conferences. There are white papers as well as past web casts available for download for SIG members.
Look for future web casts and discussion opportunities to get involved with the Enterprise Best Practices SIG. If there is a topic that is important to you and tools you need please let us know.
This group was launched at Collaborate 2006 in Nashville.
